Freezer Meal Number One

This past Monday I made 4 different kinds of freezer meals. 7 meals in all, although they will probably stretch out to 14 meals. Its only me and Booger who eat dinner, since the hubs works till 9 and eats, salads that I make him, there. Anyways I plan on making a blog post about it all, after we taste them all. But I wanted to share the one we ate last night. Burrito pie!

Big News

I just found out we are having a little one!!!

Since this blog is about me, and My Shananigan, the posts coming in might start to shift to be a little more baby related.  Don't get scared and run away, it won't take over.... well till the baby takes over LOL. I have had tons and tons of ideas for posts this past few months. I have even taken photos and thought up everything to write, but I just don't seem to be delivering. I just get so busy. I am going to try and start a list of blogs to write and hopefully push one out a day.
I have also looking into being more green, chemical and GMO free in almost every way. I hope to start writing posts about that. My posts will still have the Shananigans flare, don't worry abut that. I also hope to post more about daily/weekly life here in my crazy life, with little bit, the hubz and the new bean coming. I had to call it a bean .... seems appropriate in a wrong way lol. Shoot little bits nickname is booger, well only I call her that.

Anyways about this new baby. I am only about 4 weeks along, I know really early stages. I knew I was prego about a week before the tests would tell me. They kept coming up negative, and I was like no that's not right. Finally I was like ok I am going to do one more... and BAM baby! First thing Booger (gonna change her nick on here since there is another lil coming) said was  "I wanna help with the baby!". I didnt want to tell the hubs till he came home, he was at work, but I couldn't hold it in. Booger almost told him before I could, blurting out, "Mommy has a baby in her tummy!" LOL
She is so excited and said September 19 is to far away, which is the estimated due date. I still need to see a Doc to make sure everything is ok, but I am sure it is. Booger wants a sister but I want a boy, already had a girl. Well I guess we won't find that out till probably April.

Ok I am going to go and look at more green living and working out while pregnant, which I hope to write about. (^_^)

Xmas countdown

My husband (that's strange to say), got a Santa alien form my dad's wife, and he took the hat off. So I grabbed it with this idea of turning our Halloween countdown in to a Xmas one. I took a piece of cardboard and painted Xmas on, then just taped it a bit crooked. I wanted it to look close to the Nightmare Before Christmas countdown clock. Although my little guy looks more like Achmed. It's ok, it makes me smile when I see it.
The hat and sign come off, so it now has duel use. Well triple use if you count that it counts down to Halloween and our anniversary at the same time. If you don't already know, I got married this past Halloween. I will post pictures and everything after I get them.

Ever After

While shopping for Monster High dolls for little bit, I kept seeing these Ever After High dolls. I had to find out what they were. I love fairy tales, and little bit loves princesses and witches. Turns out C.A. Cupid has transferred over from Monster High to Ever After High, to help out. I don't care for how they changed her look, but it does fit the Ever After look better. Anyways, Ever After High is where all the Grimm's fairy tale characters children go to school. Just like Monster High is where all the Monster's children go to school. I think I might be getting a few of the dolls for miss little bit. I love Raven Queen, Madeline Hatter and Cerise Hood. Of coarse I like the rebels over the royals. Little bit will probably like the royals, but who knows.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice .... BEETLEJUICE

Dum, dum, dum, dum, nah nah nah nah nah.. do do do ...... ITS SHOWTIME!
:Cough: ok anyways. If you have not heard, Tim and Keaton have both said they are working on a new Beetlejuice movie :SQUEE: Then I heard Katy Perry was asking to be Lydia :evil stare with grumbling:. Ummm No! Today I found out that Winona Ryder is on board. :Whew: that's better. She went on to say that it will be set 27 years after the first one. Which also lifted my spirits, I was not sure what they were going to do... new people, remake, past, future.

Here is to hoping this will make the cartoons get a DVD release, please.
I love the cartoons, and want to show the little one them with out using the internet to do it.
Now I am going to go watch my favorite episodes. Prince of the neither world, Brides of Funkenstine, and Poe Pourri.  Ah, Edger you warm my heart. Nevermore.... day dreaming over.

I can't wait to hear more about this movie!

The Christmas Fairy

I have been debating over getting an elf on a shelf and starting a new tradition in our family. Even though we are not christian we still celebrate Christmas as a family holiday, more like Yule (with out the rituals). Just a day to spend time showing each other we love each other. Anyways back to what I was saying, I have been thinking about getting the elf on a shelf and desided it's not in the budget this year. That thing cost $30! I went looking online for a little inspiration to do my own. Then I got to thinking, the Christmas movie we watch about Santa every year, has no elves... it has fairies and nymphs. We watch the movie we watch is The Life and Adventure of Santa Claus . They have two versions one clay and the other cartoon, we prefer the claymation one. The only movie we watch with elves is The Return of the Gardians, and those elves are goofs lol.
The other day when I went to pick up a barbie house, shelf that looks like a house, and other barbie items , I found on Craig's list for only 100. We are turning the house into a monster high house, photos later when we are done. In with all the stuff was this fairy. I just had to transform her and turned her into our Christmas Fairy!

I am planing on making a note to go with her and explain, who she is and not to touch her. Although I do know that she probly will be touched, I found an awesome idea on pintrest about emergency elf dust, well now fairy dust (^_^). I am not going to me moving her to much, like all the elves do, she is mostly just going to sit and watch the little one to make sure she is behaving. Maybe she will move a little (^_-) .
Here is her process, she was orange and gold. I used nail polish and painted her mint green and silver. Then I made her a tutu dress with a little snow flake belt. I made the tutu like a normal one, except I cut the tule in half length wise and added an angle on the tips to make it more fairy like.

Addams Family News

While looking for an image for my Google+ header, (^^this one^^) I found out something amazing! The Addams Family is returning to the big screen!! Its going to be animated :squee:, here is to hoping its closer to the original comics. I was holding out hope that Tim Burton would pick this one back up, but looks like he will not be ... so far :evil look towards MGM: . Good news is Pamela Pettler, from Corpse Bride and Monster House, will be writing the script. No director yet :evil glare at MGM: , and no idea what type of animation style they will use. I am excited and will be staying up to date with this.

I want this image blown up and framed in my dinning room.

Maleficent

I was hesitant to see Angelina Jolie as Maleficent.

After seeing this trailer it made me feel a bit better. For the two seconds that she speaks, she has convinced me that she might make a good Maleficent. In the back of my mind is a little voice screaming, those might be the only two good seconds. "Shut up voice", I am holding out hope that this is a great movie. Maleficent totally deserves her own movie. I just hope they give her a good back story and not some hog wash blahblahblah she turned evil cause of some stupid blahblahblah reason.

Those thorns would make Morticia jealous.

My girls.

My girls sleeping. They love to snuggle with each other. Both of them passed out while watching the movie.

Monster Party

I am siting here with little bit while she drifts off to dream land. We are watching movies and relaxing. Yesterday we picked up a ton of DVDs and Halloween books from the library all "Halloween" movies. We kicked things off yesterday and watched Paranorman. I was also watching a friends kid so the little ones were having rest time while watching the movie. I really liked it, it had a good story. It freaked the little ones out some, but only for a second, after they calmed down they thought it was funny. They loved the zombies! Right now we are watching Mad Monster Party a movie from the 60's.
It's a cute movie, like a Halloween version of all the Christmas claymation movies. One thing I don't like is the monsters mate, she is annoying. I wish they would have done something more like the original bride. Other than that I loved Francesca, I wish I could cosplay that gold dress scene.
I also got the tv shows The (animated) Addams Family and the Munsters. I have been watching the original Addams Family tv show on you tube, but I think I might put it on hold next. Then I picked up Monster House, Hocus Pocus, and Mirror Mask. I have a few others on hold that will be in soon.
I'll post about the books I picked up tomorrow. After I have a chance to really look at them. I really love my library. Man I'm such a nerd :)

Book Review: Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

Neverwhere
My rating:
This book was amazing! Why did I not know about it sooner?? I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan and this book is similar, as falling down the underground London hole and ending up is this bizarre land everyone in upper land has no idea about. This book was so great i could not put it down and myself sleeping with it in my hands. Also I kept picturing Door as a blonde, could not change it to red brown. Now I want to watch the original serious this book was about. I have nothing more to say, except read this book now!

72 days!

Planning a wedding is nuts! I have finally picked out and bought my wedding dress and shoes. I am so glad that part is over! It was the most stressful part of this whole thing. I would show them off on here but I want them to be surprises, to the few who have not seen them. I already got my shoes in, they are a little taller than I thought they would be so I have to work on walking in them. Ever since I had little bit, heels have been my demise. The dress I am still waiting on, should be here by September. I know I am pushing it with the timing but hopefully it comes out okay.

We have finally decided how we want to decorate. The reception/party is going to be at my dads house, so we have somewhat free range on looks. I'm not going to get to crazy, since we can't afford it, but I'm going to be thrift shopping and crafting non stop. I am currently working on the invites, only people invited to the ceremony are getting one, cause they are expensive. Everyone else is getting a Facebook invite to the party after :). We want the ceremony to be in the woods somewhere, but can't figure out where. So we are still deciding on that.

I am scraping dollars and selling tons of my old stuff and saving money to help pay for everything. I am hoping the pricier things we like go on sale soon and don't sell out. I grabbed this guy, see photo, for about $12 at Micheal's. I love him, he can count down to our anniversary every year! For Xmas I'm gonna dress him up with a Santa hat and a cardboard "x-mas" sign over the Halloween. He will fit in perfect with our Nightmare Christmas decor.

I have a lot of projects to do for the wedding. I will post photos of the invites after I have sent them out.

My little one is so cute.

While I was fixing dinner today my little bit ran into the kitchen to tell me; "Mom I have to get married". I choked back and said "What? You have a long while before that happens." She is only 4 so she has a very long while. She proceeded to tell me "I love you guys, but I have to get married." I giggled a little and decided to play along with her saying "Who is this you are going to marry?" She huffed a little and said "I don't know, but it has to be soon, I will pick tomorrow." I died laughing at this, she is so cute and as we call her Loca.
This is her and her latest main squeeze, a friend of mines youngest. She loves the older men. She was actually talking to me about all of this after looking at the photos of them on my phone. She is looking over my shoulder right now telling me of him playing the drums and her dancing at the BBQ, the place the photos were taken. I think I am not going to have to get a shot gun as much as a lock on her door :)

Smooth face.

My face feels amazing! I did an all natural organic facial today. The only thing I didn't do was tone and moisturize, I usually don't unless I am really dried out.
I used coconut oil for a cleanser, rubbing it in using the massage method I learned in school. After this step you can steam, to open your pores, over a pot of hot water with herbs. I don't do this because I have burst capillaries around my face, and heat makes them worse. Then I used a honey, almond, and sugar scrub. It really got a lot of crap out of my pores. Then I used plain yogurt mask all over my face. While I sat with the mask I had warm lavander and camomile tea bags on my face. After I made tea with them :)

With my face doused in yogurt and my eyes covered with tea bags I desiced to soaked my feet. They were all dried out from flip flop wearing weather. I used warm water with a tea bag (lavender and camomile) and some milk. It felt so good to just relax. After I washed the mask off my face I scrubbed my feet. I used a coconut and sugar scrub and rubbed the crap out of my cracking feet. I am going to do this again soon as my feet are not as soft as I want.

Knitting with Morticia.

I had to start over, but I'm on the right track now. Hopefully I will be done with it in a week or two, lol.

Today's experiments.

So today I tried the cold coffee brew and the sugar cubes I made yesterday. They both were pretty easy to make, but both had to sit over night. First sugar cubes.
These are just, sugar with a bit of water, put them in the mold and let them harden over night. They where hard to get out the mold, and the bottom of it didn't harden. But they did turn out useful. I probably won't make them in a mold, unless having a tea party. I did make some today in cube shape, and will post about them tomorrow.
Here is the clod brew coffee with milk and a cute sugar cube. This brew was a bit strong for me. I am hoping to perfect it in the future. For now I will add more milk and sugar :)

Here was the process;

Get a jar of water and mix in coffee.
I used a little over 1/2 cup coffee with one quart water. Let it sit over night.

The next day filter the grounds out, I used a filter over a strainer.
I did have to use a few filters.
This is a long process take your time and only pour in a little at a time.

I cleaned out the jar and reused it.
Place in the fridge and get it all chilly.

Pour some into a glass.
Mix with sugar and milk or cream, and drink up. Yum!

Right now, hey!

So it's my set time to blog.... Not sure what to write about. For got to take photos of dinner, but it didn't look that great the second time around. Still tasted as good tho. Next time I make it I will have photos. Right now we are watching the Walking Dead, trying to catch up on it. I am also knitting a hammock for little bits stuffed animals. Only on the forth row right now, 160 stitches is crazy :\ hope to actually finish it. I have only finished a few scarfs and one wrist warmer. I'll post pictures of the progress soon.

Homemaking

Lately I have not felt like myself unless I am either in the kitchen making something new, cleaning or organizing an area that's gone nuts, or crafting up something. Just being a homemaker in general. I have decided I am going to start blogging about it :) . I am going to really try to post something once a day maybe more! I am going to try and blog every night after the little one has gone to bed. I know you have heard me say this before, but I am really going to try. I have even set a timer on mt ipad to go off to remind me. I might include our homeschool adventures, but at this age it's so sporadic, we are taking a learn as it comes approach right now.

We are changing our diet to whole food, so I will post all my experiments. Good and fail ones. Today I am trying suger cubes and cold brew coffee. I will let you know how they turn out tomorrow, as they both have to sit over night. I am also doing the 15 minutes in an area to get organized. So I will post before and after photos of those. I have already done 3 areas, wish I would have taken before photos :(
Maybe I will post what I made for dinner last night when we eat the left overs, it was pretty good.

Life update

We have been homeschooling the past month. It did not go as totally planned but it is going well. I am thinking about making a blog just about our homeschool adventures. Maybe making it a weekly post, since I know I won't be able to keep up with a daily one :)

So I have an announcement. If you follow me on facebook you already know. We finally set a date for the wedding! 10/31/13! Makes it way easier on me to remember. I am horrible with dates, I have a hard enough time remembering Mr Mans birthday. :/

Here is our STD, I love calling it that lol.
I made them, so proud of me :) I made several, but this is the final one.
