Book Review: Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

Neverwhere
My rating:
This book was amazing! Why did I not know about it sooner?? I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan and this book is similar, as falling down the underground London hole and ending up is this bizarre land everyone in upper land has no idea about. This book was so great i could not put it down and myself sleeping with it in my hands. Also I kept picturing Door as a blonde, could not change it to red brown. Now I want to watch the original serious this book was about. I have nothing more to say, except read this book now!

72 days!

Planning a wedding is nuts! I have finally picked out and bought my wedding dress and shoes. I am so glad that part is over! It was the most stressful part of this whole thing. I would show them off on here but I want them to be surprises, to the few who have not seen them. I already got my shoes in, they are a little taller than I thought they would be so I have to work on walking in them. Ever since I had little bit, heels have been my demise. The dress I am still waiting on, should be here by September. I know I am pushing it with the timing but hopefully it comes out okay.

We have finally decided how we want to decorate. The reception/party is going to be at my dads house, so we have somewhat free range on looks. I'm not going to get to crazy, since we can't afford it, but I'm going to be thrift shopping and crafting non stop. I am currently working on the invites, only people invited to the ceremony are getting one, cause they are expensive. Everyone else is getting a Facebook invite to the party after :). We want the ceremony to be in the woods somewhere, but can't figure out where. So we are still deciding on that.

I am scraping dollars and selling tons of my old stuff and saving money to help pay for everything. I am hoping the pricier things we like go on sale soon and don't sell out. I grabbed this guy, see photo, for about $12 at Micheal's. I love him, he can count down to our anniversary every year! For Xmas I'm gonna dress him up with a Santa hat and a cardboard "x-mas" sign over the Halloween. He will fit in perfect with our Nightmare Christmas decor.

I have a lot of projects to do for the wedding. I will post photos of the invites after I have sent them out.

My little one is so cute.

While I was fixing dinner today my little bit ran into the kitchen to tell me; "Mom I have to get married". I choked back and said "What? You have a long while before that happens." She is only 4 so she has a very long while. She proceeded to tell me "I love you guys, but I have to get married." I giggled a little and decided to play along with her saying "Who is this you are going to marry?" She huffed a little and said "I don't know, but it has to be soon, I will pick tomorrow." I died laughing at this, she is so cute and as we call her Loca.
This is her and her latest main squeeze, a friend of mines youngest. She loves the older men. She was actually talking to me about all of this after looking at the photos of them on my phone. She is looking over my shoulder right now telling me of him playing the drums and her dancing at the BBQ, the place the photos were taken. I think I am not going to have to get a shot gun as much as a lock on her door :)

Smooth face.

My face feels amazing! I did an all natural organic facial today. The only thing I didn't do was tone and moisturize, I usually don't unless I am really dried out.
I used coconut oil for a cleanser, rubbing it in using the massage method I learned in school. After this step you can steam, to open your pores, over a pot of hot water with herbs. I don't do this because I have burst capillaries around my face, and heat makes them worse. Then I used a honey, almond, and sugar scrub. It really got a lot of crap out of my pores. Then I used plain yogurt mask all over my face. While I sat with the mask I had warm lavander and camomile tea bags on my face. After I made tea with them :)

With my face doused in yogurt and my eyes covered with tea bags I desiced to soaked my feet. They were all dried out from flip flop wearing weather. I used warm water with a tea bag (lavender and camomile) and some milk. It felt so good to just relax. After I washed the mask off my face I scrubbed my feet. I used a coconut and sugar scrub and rubbed the crap out of my cracking feet. I am going to do this again soon as my feet are not as soft as I want.

Knitting with Morticia.

I had to start over, but I'm on the right track now. Hopefully I will be done with it in a week or two, lol.

Today's experiments.

So today I tried the cold coffee brew and the sugar cubes I made yesterday. They both were pretty easy to make, but both had to sit over night. First sugar cubes.
These are just, sugar with a bit of water, put them in the mold and let them harden over night. They where hard to get out the mold, and the bottom of it didn't harden. But they did turn out useful. I probably won't make them in a mold, unless having a tea party. I did make some today in cube shape, and will post about them tomorrow.
Here is the clod brew coffee with milk and a cute sugar cube. This brew was a bit strong for me. I am hoping to perfect it in the future. For now I will add more milk and sugar :)

Here was the process;

Get a jar of water and mix in coffee.
I used a little over 1/2 cup coffee with one quart water. Let it sit over night.

The next day filter the grounds out, I used a filter over a strainer.
I did have to use a few filters.
This is a long process take your time and only pour in a little at a time.

I cleaned out the jar and reused it.
Place in the fridge and get it all chilly.

Pour some into a glass.
Mix with sugar and milk or cream, and drink up. Yum!
